One day, my friend Michael asked if I would do a pastel portrait of him for the dust jacket of his new book. As he sat there, lost in his own thoughts, I created this image of the writer at work to go with the work inside that jacket. I call this piece Author, though it could just as easily been called Michael. Pastel 24” x 20”
